ISO 22000 certification for Le Cèdre Diffusion #Cahors

After our certification for organic farming in 2012, we are happy and proud to announce that the entire Le Cèdre Diffusion Company has been certified ISO 22000.

Quality politics at our estate

What means HACCP

Hazard analysis and critical control points, or HACCP, is a systematic preventive approach to food safety and biological hazards in production processes. Moreover, it’s efficient an procedure to audit and to improve the entire production process. Always up to date, HACCP follows all changes and evolution of our wine growing and wine making to guarantee permanent food safety.

What is ISO 22000?

ISO 22000 is an international standard for Food Safety Management Systems, that can be applied to any organization in the food chain, farm to fork. Becoming certified to the ISO 22000 lets a company show their customers that they have a food safety management system in place. ISO 22000 aims to guarantee food safety and assimilates international food hygiene standards.

What means the certification for our wine Estate?

Setting up an HACCP plan for the ISO 22000 certification gave us the opportunity to screen the entire organization of our winery, regarding safety and risk factors for both our costumers and employees. The latter have welcomed our decisions and were very involved with the project. Every task of the winery has been revised, pointing out the responsibilities of everyone. That’s a very important factor for successful team work.”

What means the certification for our customers?

“ We want to display transparency about our wine production. The ISO 22000 certification is a commitment to quality, as much as the certification for organic farming. More than just trophies that will be exposed at the winery, these are promises towards our costumers and partners that will be regularly checked by independent organizations. At our website we display for example how many years you may keep each of our cuvees under correct storage conditions. The combination of Malbec and our terroir enables us to produce great wines with extraordinary ageing potential.
