Arjolle Reloaded, or DATAMATRIX arrives on our back labels

What is Data Matrix?

A Data Matrix code is a two-dimensional matrix barcode consisting of black and white “cells” or modules arranged in either a square or rectangular pattern. The information to be encoded can be text or raw data. Usual data size is from a few bytes up to 2 kilobytes. The length of the encoded data depends on the symbol dimension used. Error correction codes are added to increase symbol strength: even if they are partially damaged, they can still be read. A Data Matrix symbol can store up to 2,335 alphanumeric characters.

How does it work?

Data Matrix codes are becoming common on printed media such as labels and letters. Data Matrix codes, along with other Open Source codes such as 1D Barcodes can also now be read with mobile phones, simply by downloading the application to compatible mobile phones.

Domaine de l'ArjolleWhy put Data Matrix on our back labels?

Data Matrix enables every person that has a Smartphone to go directly to the Arjolle website. As 85% of our wines are exported (Germany, India, UK, Japan…), the use of Data Matrix will give immediate web access to all persons in search for information about our wines.
For us it is important way to combine globalisation and customer proximity through modern technologies.
