Latest update : 29 November 2019.
The basic idea is simple: Every major region in the world has the opportunity to make wines based on the expression of terroir. This applies to Burgundy as to California, to the Mosel, as well as to the Rhône Valley.
After several years of observation and research, Yves and Benjamin Gras have bottled their first signle vineyard wines from Gigondas and Châteauneuf-du-Pape, vintage 2014. In Gigondas they have opted for the “CLOS DERRIÈRE VIEILLE”, a vineyard located 350 meters above sea level, on (...)
Days are getting longer, birds and flowers return to our gardens, the trees are getting green again, the thick winter jacket remains on the hanger and on Sunday your nose may detect some smoke from a BBQ. No doubt, spring is here! It’s time to let powerful red wines in the cellar till next autumn and search for something light. LET’S DRINK ROSÉ!
This popular wine is just fine for an improvised aperitif on a terrace, on a balcony or even on a windowsill. Together with a few slices of raw ham, (...)
Dear customers, dear friends,
In March, we will be at PRO WINE (Hall 11, Stand B69) to present the fruits of our work in the vineyard and winery over the past years. A variety of deliberate decisions has allowed us to restructure the wine range of SANTA DUC: The certification of organic farming, the application of TERRA PRETA in all our vineyards to improve soil structure and water balance, the ripening of our wines in large wooden vats and TERRA COTTA jars out of respect for the fruit and (...)

Flavonoid-rich foods are associated with a reduced risk of erectile dysfunction, according to a new study. Of all the different flavonoids, Anthocyanins (found in blueberries, cherries, blackberries, radishes and blackcurrant), flavanones and flavones (found in citrus fruits) were found to offer the greatest benefits in preventing the condition. This research shows that eating a flavonoid-rich diet is as good for erectile function as briskly walking for up to five hours a week.

One of my teachers made me pay attention to the world of wine for the first time at school, by making me memorize all AOC regions of France for lessons in geography.
My relation to wine became more serious and even professionnal while I was working in London in 2001. I spent the next eight years gaining experience and worked, amongst others, for the “Producteurs Plaimont”, a natural step for someone coming from south-western France. It was my job at a high-quality wine retailer, that put me (...)
Last year we had a late maturing vintage. In the area around Gigondas, Plan de Dieu, Rasteau ... there was little rainfall in September, so we could serenely wait for the full maturity of the grapes. The last fruit finally reached our cellar on October 10th.
Being convinced that terroir and fruits produce the taste of wine, we intervene in the production processes as sparingly as possible. Its our main concern to preserve the overall quality of the grapes. For this purpose, we carefully (...)
