Rosé wine now is considered a full-fledged wine, embellishing fresh salads, fish, cheese, exotic dishes, as well as hilarious moments amongst friends all around the year. However, some “typical” rosé wines can still be described as exemplary summer wines, which only intensify our desire for sunshine, swimmingpools and farniente.
The Cuvée “Tradition” by Pierre Cros is one of them. With ease, it seduces with a very bright and shining color and a scent of red fruits, candies, peaches and a touch of (...)
In many French wine-growing regions grape harvest was rather small in 2013. For this reason, the vintage remained almost unnoticed by the press. This is a pity, because it contains some jewels, which can be enjoyed already, or can still be stored for a few years in the cellar. I therefore recently opened a bottle from this vintage of the first cuvée of the Verhaeghe brothers from Cahors. Made from 90% Malbec and 10% Merlot and Tannat, the wine has been considered as a great classic from (...)
continueThis white wine from the Minervois made from wide range of grape varieties (Grenache blanc and gris, Vermentino, Muscat, Picpoul blanc and gris ...), has already surprised me with its fresh acidity and minerality in the past. The vines grow predominantly in a location called “Les Costes”, a gentle hill chain with loamy and stony soil. The north-facing position is certainly responsible for the unusual acidity, but one should not underestimate the influence of Picpoul, a grape variety which (...)
continueProtected by forests and oriented to the northwest, the vineyard “Les Longues Verges” is divided by the border between the two Grand Cru villages Cramant and Chouilly. Its name originates from an old agricultural uni tof square measure, the “Verge”, covering an area of 1276 m2. In view of the topography and its orientation, the grapes ripen more slowly than in other terroirs and the natural yields of the vines are lower.
Made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes of this terroir, the LV is an (...)
Regardless to the vintage, you will be able to recognize each cuvee by its typical taste, as each one has created a distinct identity with the help of its terroir. An identity and a style that has strengthened over time, certainly due to the fact that we are steadily reduce the application of sulphur in the winery.
Cahors Extra Libre 2015
He did it first! While the rest of the wines progress with care, he took a blind leap already in 2014. The first wine of Château du Cèdre completely (...)
A sincere, tasty champagne, made from Chardonnay and a blend of the 2010 and 2011 vintage. The nose is dominated by peach aromas, melon and a few fresh herbs, while fresh citrus aromas, crisp acidity, red currants and a handful of strawberries take over on the palate. A precise dosage conferes pleasant roundness and full-bodiedness. A champagne “blanc de blancs” without frills, which wikll entertain your taste buds for sure and will accompany your solemn and friendly moments with its (...)

Le GC Cahors 2014
He’s the patriarch of Château du Cèdre, the wise, the Hermit. At least at first glance. Behind his serious colour, his opaque dark fruit and his legendary (...)
A famous, Portuguese grape variety that originally grows in the areas of the Duoro and Porto, and of which there is only onesingle vineyard in France. A true rarity. The vineyard is located in the Minervois and was planted on some 2,4 acres of rocky and dry soils near Carcassonne by Pierre Cros in 2001. From the beginning on, the Touriga has felt very well under the warm sun of the “Midi”. The grapes were put on the ground in the first years to strengthen the young vines and to make life (...)

Le Cèdre Cahors 2014
A real lady, born out of the love between Malbec and Cahors, which has enough sophistication to shine on all the tables of the world. Her character is rich (...)
The 2014 Gigondas Aux Lieux Dits (75% Grenache, 13% Mourvèdre and the balance Syrah and Cinsault) is a terrific wine in the vintage. It reveals a healthy ruby/purple color as well as medium-bodied richness, solid mid-palate depth, ripe tannin, classic notes of spiced red and black fruits and Provencal garrigue. It should drink beautifully through 2024.
